Being a vegetarian puts me in a unique position. I’m able to annoy both my friends and family at the same time. Usually something I may do will annoy one group but not necessarily the other. For example if I stay at the bar until last call, my friends will be happy but when I show up to a family event the next day hung over, my family is annoyed. But when you're a vegetarian it bugs everyone.
Besides being a vegetarian I have other bad habits. One of them is to lick my fingers before turning a page. As a reader I often trade books among my friends. One friend is just as annoyed at me for licking my fingers before turning the pages of his books, as he is with me for being a vegetarian and he managed to make me regretful of both bad habits.
He lent me a great book titled “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George S. Clason which I read ‘with relish’. Two days later he sent me five pictures. The first one was a picture a pack of bacon. The second one was a picture of the book. Pictures three to five along with a little note, explained how he spent thirty minutes smudging bacon fat into the top corner of the 100 page book.
Needles to say I no longer borrow books from this friend.
The idea for this came from a caller on a radio talk show.
