Beaconsfield Undefeated Once Again
It would be hard to imagine a team training harder for a game. We had a week off, and at the time that it is sometimes hardest for a team to dig in and get it done, BRFC put in the hours and the effort to prepare for the game against
Although we did not play a perfect game our fly-half controlled the territory well in the face of a good opposite fly-half and fullback. We played to the corners on multiple phases and at times found points in the unlikeliest of places.
In very hot weather the forwards were great in the scrums (with no help from Quinn) which led to good runs off back row plays thanks in part to alert wingers. Line-outs also seemed to go well and Cory did a good job challenging
Our newest funny talker Paul performed his tackling duties admirably and kicked for space well, while Ovett, who had an interception at the end of the game that almost turned into a try, did a good job standing in for cousin Chris.
We are thankful for Vince who came in to replace our eight man at the 49 second mark and played well reminding us that there is no substitute for experience.
The men who went to battle:

changes
16-Vince 'don't mess with me' Nickson to eight man
17- Dave 'the mexican spaniard' Torres (not sure if he got in)
Next week we have St Lambert at home at 1:30pm
What was dubbed the Oreo™ back line played well and brought forward a motion to have our club song changed to the following.
Theme from "Shaft"
Isaac Hayes
Shaft
Who's the black private dick
that's a sex machine to all the chicks?
(Shaft!)
You're damn right
Who is the man
that would risk his neck for his brother man?
(Shaft!)
Can ya dig it?
Who's the cat that won't cop out
when there's danger all about
(Shaft!)
Right on
You see this cat Shaft is a bad mother--
(Shut your mouth)
But I'm talkin' about Shaft
(Then we can dig it)
He's a complicated man
but no one understands him but his woman
(John Shaft)

I was watching that game from a great spot on Saturday (some might say I was almost in that wingers' shadow). I saw him put on a Rugby workshop and a half (Try after try and then an interception as if the funk he brought just wasn't funky enough as is) and Sherbrooke were the invited guests and demonstatees; unfortunately for them. I heard that very same winger was gonna try out for the Quebec National Team (hey, they call it a nation, why can't I?). I also heard that because he didn't wanna rest on his superstar laurels and cruise through to a starting position on "L'equipe Nationale" he was gonna try out under an alias. I think that alias was gonna be Roundtree. Mr. Roundtree you know, like Smarties, like Shaft. He is a sexy beast that winger, A sexy beast indeed.
Man of the match certainly goes to the handsome devil running up and down the sidelines, he certainly was an unlikely place to find so many points. Averaging a try a game is going to be hard to live up to.
Rumour has it there would have been a hat trick if the replacement full-back would have been a tinge more generous in the 80th minute
